Tessa R. Lucchi
Psy.D. Clinical Psychotherapist
Welcome!
If you have arrived at my page then you must be considering starting therapy. Whether this is your first experience, or you have been in therapy before, I am happy you are doing your research to find someone who can support you during this time in your life. Taking the first step toward initiating change can be challenging and it's often difficult to know where to begin. Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is a great place to start.
On this site you will find more information about me and my areas of expertise. While I recognize that each person brings their own unique story to therapy, I find that there are some issues that I work with more than others. The connection between the therapist and client is so important for a good working relationship. If you find yourself identifying with some of the experiences I write about, I encourage you to contact me contact me for a free 20 minute consultation to see if I can help.
About Me
I earned my Masters of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees from the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. I completed my predoctoral internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Counseling Center and my postdoctoral fellowship at Benedict Psychological Services.
Throughout my training, I have provided individual, group, and couples therapy to adults in a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, a behavioral health hospital, and in private practice. I have also provided psychoeducational workshops on mindfulness and self-compassion.
